Constipation

Chronic ConstipationConstipation is a term used to describe any of the following: infrequent stools that are less than three per week, hard stools or stools that require excessive straining or pressing around the anal opening to help a bowel movement pass.  Individuals with constipation often feel as though they have not fully evacuated after a bowel movement.  If these symptoms occur for more than 6 months, this is considered chronic constipation.
